Aircraft Twirls Out of Control into Palm Groves at Popular California Shoreline
An aircraft soaring above a popular southern California beach abruptly began spiraling uncontrollably, eventually descending rapidly and smashing into a line of palm groves as spectators observed.
Recordings shared on the internet depict the helicopter starting to spin near Huntington Beach then falling in the direction of the edge of the shore, where it becomes wedged amidst palms and a steps near the coastal road.
Rescue Operation Details
Emergency responders reported five persons were rushed to the hospital including two who were in the aircraft and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” subsequent to the accident on the weekend.
Three persons on the road were injured. Details on their injuries were not yet released.
What led to the incident was not immediately released.
