Analysis of the 1.15pm Race
The Group One for two-year-old colts pits leading French juveniles versus an important contender representing the O’Brien stable. Undefeated Graffard’s Rayif along with Nighttime (Christopher Head) take on the Irish-trained Puerto Rico. Rayif took a Group Three event during his last outing, and the second French hope, with three wins from four, is also a Group Three victor, after secured a Group Three at Longchamp at today’s track and trip back in September. The Irish runner has been more active than his rivals and recorded his first win recently in his most recent outing, in the Doncaster’s Group Two. He was a big price for a Ballydoyle horse and among the top choices underperformed, he remains a strong 9-2 chance according to the bookmakers. The Solario Stakes victor, which won the Solario Stakes in a close finish, deserves merits a spot among the runners, like the Appleby-trained Appleby’s Time To Turn, a Listed winner at Royal Ascot earlier this season.

Analysis of the 12.40pm Race
Following a streak starting in 2018 where the Boussac winner was unable to achieve a subsequent win, the French premier event for juvenile fillies has picked up some form recently featuring the 2022 winner along with the 2023 victor both securing Group One victories the following year and Zarigana (2024), who was edged out by her 100-1 stable companion a year after being 1-100 in running, took the Poule d’Essai des Pouliches this May. Green Spirit (unbeaten), perfect in four starts including the D’Aumale on this course last time out, leads the home challenge in this race and also tops the ratings. Yet the O’Brien-trained Diamond Necklace (unbeaten) is unbeaten – after two starts – and is expected to provide strong competition. The filly claimed a black-type race during Champions Weekend in September and a victory by the stallion St Mark’s Basilica would represent a significant milestone for the breed. Together, the favourites in the betting represent approximately 70% of the market, though there exist additional contenders who warrant attention. Ozone remains perfect after two starts, albeit at smaller venues, last time out securing a black-type contest at Lyon. Meanwhile, the Burke-trained Aylin (May Hill winner) took a Group Two on the Doncaster course in her latest start and the yard could hardly be more in form.
PICK: DIAMOND NECKLACE
